“Chasing the heisman”
“In 2003, John David Crow gave me on behalf of Special Olympics an official Heisman Trust football which he won in 1957. It had the signatures of 14 Heisman winners. Over the next 2 years and 70,000 air miles I got the remaining 40 signatures of all then-current living Heisman winners covering the years of 1946-2005, long before NIL came in. I sold the ball for $200,000, and all proceeds went to Special Olympics. Now, here’s the story of how I did it.”
